As I have mentioned before, I’m a member of another bookclub and this is the book February. I am also one reviewers and so will need to start reading this in late January. I volunteered to review because I would like to be more productive with my time!
This bestselling book by Brian Moran and Michael Lennington, gives guidance, tips and templates on how to get more done. This book is designed for both organisations and individuals. So whether this is for your own personal development or team buildings, the book covers both bases.
I like the idea of setting goals over 12 weeks, it’s a good length of time to get things done. It also creates a sense of urgency rather than thinking that you have a whole year. As we are in the new year, the tradition of setting New Year’s Resolutions is well known. But often good intentions for the new year often fall by the wayside before the end of the January. It is also easy to get caught up in the hype of setting Resolutions.
Personally, I no longer set New Year Resolutions. Having goals and assigning tasks to achieve them is something I’m trying to implement. There is overall vision but then there are different elements to it. Since about November last year, I’ve been jotting down three things I want to complete each day to achieve my over arching goals. Some days, I achieve these things and some days I don’t. I was consistent and but sometimes when a day doesn’t go as expected then I don’t get all tasks completed. Which can be frustrating.
How do you get things done?
Clearly, I’ve got a lot to learn so I’ll be keen to implement what I learn. Here’s to a more productive year!
